Yves Saint Laurent (1936-2008) was a revolutionary of the women's wear since the 1960 's. Together with Christian Dior and Coco Chanel he made Paris to the global Center of Haute Couture.

The 1980s ushered in a new golden age of costume jewellery: unprecedented boom years for the industry, when costume jewellery, more exciting, unashamedly fake, and more daringly adventurous than ever, became the most powerful expression of femininity an individuality, the most important fashion accessory of the day, This was the decade of rapid economic growth, bringing wealth an prosperity to the Western world, the decade of the collapse of Communism. Socially, it was the decade of post-feminism, of the power brokers of Dallas and Dynasty, when women, armed with their shoulder pads and jewels, felt empowered, able to own up to their femininity again without fear of jeopardising their hard-won independence and career success. Rejecting the traditional associations of precious jewellery with male “ownership”, relegating women to trophies, or walking shop windows for their husbands’ success, women embraced the freedom and fantasy of fashion jewellery. Prized for its own particular merits, for its infinite possibilities, both imitative and innovative, and above all for its unadulterated glamour, costume jewellery became socially acceptable for all occasions, even the most formal, and for all times of day, from the ballroom to the boardroom or the gym.
The choker will be sent in a adequate red velvet box.
